Rob Shapiro is a TV writer, screenwriter and novelist who recently wrote for the hit animated series, D.N.Ace (Corus/Nelvana). His live-action comedy series, What Got Did, was awarded the Cogeco Fund and the Bell Fund and was shortlisted in an international writing competition. His half-hour, Comedy School, is currently in development with LoCoMotion Pictures ( How to Buy a Baby, CBC.Warner Bros, and Detention Adventure, CBC/HBOMAX) with Anthony Farrell (NBC’s The Office and BBC’s The Secret Life of Boys) as showrunner.
Shapiro’s debut YA fantasy novel, The Book of Sam, was released in 2020 by Dundurn Press to critical acclaim. His current work of fiction has been awarded funding from both the Toronto Arts Council and the Ontario Arts Council.
