Sima is the co-founder and CEO of the award-winning company The Other Box. Founded in 2016 The Other Box works with companies & organisations to educate employees about unconscious bias, allyship, systemic oppression, privilege, anti-racism and the importance of embedding an inclusive environment of diversity & equity at every touchpoint of business.
Sima has evolved her 25 years of experience working internationally as a fashion stylist, creative director and marketing director in fashion, film, television, tech, advertising & marketing to co-create content that speaks directly to the value of representation & the need for inclusion in business. Her focus areas for 2021 with The Other Box are to scale the business with TOB for Teams, bringing the engaging courses to more businesses, leading the creation of the TOB app and writing the long-awaited TOB book, with her co-founders Leyya Sattar and Roshni Goyate.
Sima continues to work in the film industry with producers & directors as a consultant and writer on pitches & treatments for Commercial, Music Video, TV & Feature film projects. She brings her gift of inclusive storytelling to help create projects that speak to the current climate and the need for intersectional representation in all aspects of media. She continues to work with fashion brands on unconscious bias training, highlighting the need for equity & education for all humans in the fashion supply chain.
In 2017 Sima launched sima says, parlaying her love of fashion, branding and yoga into a lifestyle consultancy and coaching business. Her unique skill is helping people get clear. At sima says, she consults on branding and sustainable fashion & coaches entrepreneurs and business leaders on how to problem solve, see the bigger picture and practice more compassion to achieve their professional and personal goals.
In 2009, Sima qualified with distinction as a 500+ hours yoga teacher, graduating from a renown school in Kerala, India. A decade later, her yoga practice focusses on meditation and breathwork. She works with individuals and businesses providing guided meditation sessions and sharing her love of the ancient medical science of Ayurveda by teaching accessible ways to integrate Ayurveda in everyday life.
Sima was born in Ba, Fiji Islands, grew up in Vancouver, Canada, has lived & worked around the world. She now resides in London, UK.
