Ana Hummes Ota

Hi everyone!

I'm originally from Brazil but was raised in various different countries including China, Germany, and now Malaysia. Growing up, I was constantly surrounded by a diverse group of people, many of which spoke a different language and celebrated different customs. In many ways, I felt a stronger connection to those around me than to my own culture.

Film has always been important to me, it's been a constant in my temporary life. Storytelling has always come naturally to me. I wrote my first feature-length screenplay when I was 12 years old. It wasn't my best work but it was a giant first step.

My journey as a screenwriter and filmmaker has only just begun. I continue to learn every day and I'm excited to meet and work with everyone!
