Born in Afghanistan before the Soviet invasion, Dave grew up laughing and playing all over Asia. His love of culture, sports, friendships, fun and faith filled his childhood. From sun up to sun down he was out doors running amuck as a nomadic version of Huck Finn. His most painful culture shock moment was returning to the USA as a teenager. The third world lifestyle he was used to seemingly paled in comparison to American teenage angst. David has worked in production for 20 years: Stunts, Line Producing, Production Coordinating, Global Humanitarian Efforts, Film Producer, and is currently Head of Production for Culture Shock.
Culture Shock represents the gamut of drama we experience when we are thrust into a situation that is foreign to us. And yet, no matter how uncomfortable the situation is, we learn something. This happens in every story all over the world. It’s not just about travel. Pick a protagonist from any story—ever— and what’s that moment that sends the hero into the unknown transformational adventure? There isn’t a story that exists without some element of Culture Shock.
