I am a full-time novelist and children's book author. My first book, the fantasy novel LINES UPON THE SKIN, was published in 1995. Since then, I have had more than 240 books published with a wide range of publishers. I have also written several unproduced screenplays. Although I write on a diverse range of topics, I particularly enjoy writing character-driven stories that feature adventurous girls and women.
I have a BA in Media Studies from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of New England (I was named a Vice-Chancellor's Scholar for excellence in academic performance). In 2017, I completed two Writing for TV courses run by the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School.
I am a member of the Australian Society of Authors, the Australian Writers' Guild, the Australian Linguistic Society, and the Applied Linguistics Association of Australia.
In my spare time, I enjoy painting, reading, photography, and exercising my dogs. I live in Melbourne, Australia.
