About Karthi
My training as a life coach has given me a unique approach to screenwriting. I am trained to listen to the song in your heart and help you have hard conversations by cultivating your EQ (emotional intelligence.) Naturally, I LOVE to write dialogue.
For many years, acting helped “keep grits in the pantry” as my southern friends might say. I’ve taken roles in numerous industrial films for local businesses, national commercials for Target, Vanderbilt, Ascend and the Iike...
To my family’s dismay and utter disappointment, the only time I’ve ever donned a physician’s white coat was when I was cast as the token Indian doctor in a training video :-0)
For 20+ years, I’ve been writing/directing sketches/dramas for various church ministries. India born, raised in the USA, now pitching my first teleplay - a half hour family friendly dramedy about a racially mixed marriage with adopted kids. See logline below;
Unique traits: For decades, I’d been told that “listening is my superpower.” I’m thankful that my Maker deposited that gift in me. It’s enabled me to help a lot of people by lending a listening ear- especially at such a time as THIS!!! But just between you, me and the dogwood trees- in full bloom now in Tennessee- I’ve always wished God would’ve given me something a little more glamorous. Like playing upright bass, maybe... or ice skating, even.. :-0)
