About Francesca

I am an Italian actor and screenwriter based in Berlin. I am creative, determined and passionate. I love to work both alone, and in a team. I have a multi-disciplinary background, which includes producing and directing. Alongside my native Italian, I speak fluent English, German, and French.

I have a lot of ideas, and if I could sell my ideas in the supermarket I might be rich now. But this is just an imaginary world.

I was born in a small town near Bologna, Pieve di Cento. I am Italian but I feel like I am a citizen of the world. I have lived in many different cities, and I have lived many lives.

When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming Charlie Chaplin, and then David Bowie. Now I want to create myself.

Alongside my creative work, I freelance in education as an acting and screenwriting coach, theatre pedagog, director and casting assistant.
Alongside my creative work, I freelance in education as an acting and screenwriting coach, theatre pedagog and casting assistant.

After graduating in Educational Sciences at the University of Bologna, I continued my studies in theatre and physical theatre, circus, and performing art at the Galante Garrone Academy in Italy and the Dimitri Theatre Academy in Switzerland. Other studies followed with John Strasberg, Jordan Bayne, Susan Batson, Pierre Byland, Philippe Gaulier, Sabino Civilleri, Emanuela Lo Scicco, and Nicole Kerhberger.

I have worked as an actress and performer on many different projects in movies and theatre with directors such as Juan Diego Puerta Lopez, Jan Lauwers, Dimitri Clown, Teatro Magro, André Casaca, Philippe Minella, Daniel Bausch, Brian Reinholds, Bruno Colella, Giambatista Assanti, Patrizia Siclari, Andreas Linke, Maja Costa, Julien Magnan, Dominik Hardlt, Fabian Kimoto, and other artists such as Basma Alsharif and Laura Nai, among others. My style is varied, eclectic, ranging from physical theatre, clowning, acting, and stand up comedy. As a writer, I am dark and courageous. I love to collaborate with others, and I am a truly believer in female power.

In 2020 I directed my first short movie Lola, an LGBTQ+ short film which was subsequently selected for more than 20 festivals around the world, and broadcast by Weshort and Shorts TV.

As screenwriter I studied at the Film Arche School with Dan Calvisi, Christina Hamm, Sundance Collab, and Master Drehbuch. In 2022 I was selected for the prestigious female Screenwriter Lab Europe, supported by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, which fights sexism and ageism in TV and Film.
