About Laurie

As a cultural anthropologist, I have traveled the world to find creative inspiration in a myriad of contexts. My African colleagues call me "book long" when it comes to life experience.

I have worked with video and film projects, while abroad and here in the U.S., as a writer, script consultant, cultural/language consultant, translator, researcher, videographer, and producer on industrial and educational videos, commercials, and narrative films.

I am a published author of fiction and non-fiction as well as a college professor in language arts, creative writing, history, and the social sciences, including studies in cross-cultural media. My degrees include an MA in Applied Anthropology and an MFA in Stage and Screen writing.

I have had two short plays performed and a few short scripts optioned for film production. It is my dream to market my screenplays with their unique and entertaining vision.

Unique traits: Multilingual, experienced researcher and writer, cultural expert
