Sam Sodeyf, was born in Tehran to a university lecturer and high school teacher. While still in high school, he and several friends started an impromptu theatre group and found a mentor in the well known Iranian television director, Ali Halavi. Sam continued to act in productions throughout his high school and university years. Included in their repertoire were works based on western writers William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens as well as Persian works such as "Miaad", a look at the tragedies of the Iran/Iraq conflict.
After graduation from the University of Tehran with a Bsc. in Agriculture, and having served a required military term, Sam decided to see the world outside Iran. He has traveled through 32 countries and lived in four before deciding to make Canada his homeland.
His dream is to make at least one film per year--from documentary to feature length.
