Richa is an award-winning NYC-based statistician-turned filmmaker. Her films have screened at over 45 film festivals and won 10+ awards, including Best Narrative Short, Best Horror Short and Best Emerging Filmmaker.
Her scripts have won or placed in Oscars-qualifying festivals and competitive screenwriting labs such as Nashville Film Festival, HollyShorts, Stowe Narrative Lab, ScreenCraft and Shore Scripts. As an actor she has performed in short films and Off-Broadway plays in New York City. Her writings have appeared in publications such as Static Mass Emporium and American Kahani.
Richa was selected as 1 of 10 directors from around the world for the 2021 Open Door Film Project to direct a genre-based anthology series. A strong proponent for increasing diversity in storytelling, she serves as the Vice President of Development for NYC Women Filmmakers, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting women in film. A storyteller at heart, Richa likes to view the world with a sociological lens and tell tales of courage.
