About James
Born in in Hartford, CT, James fell in love with the stories told in movies, television and through the books he read as a child and developed a love for storytelling. His passion has always been creating stories with interesting and relatable characters in larger than life circumstances. His philosophy on writing is it’s important for an audience to care what happens to the characters in order to be invested in the story.
Although he’s been writing all his life, in 2015 he published a book series titled “Land of The Living”, a science fiction novel that was near to his heart followed by the novel “Land of Death and Destiny” and “Land of Shadows and Light.” Most recently he’s completed work on the mystery/suspense novel “I Know Who You Are” and has also created scripts based on his books.
He has served as Writer/Director and helped Produce the short film titled “High Five Across Time” in Fall of 2022 and Directed the short film “Anyone But Me” in summer of 2023.

Film (short) by James Pinard Writer / Director James and Sara were young and in love in the 1980's when Sara was murdered by an evil entity in a cemetery that serves as a crossroads between the living and the dead, but when James visits Sara's grave years later as an adult, he gets a glimpse of the life they could've had together.
