About Monica

Monica has and/or currently written and produced feature/TV projects and has worked with filmmakers Joel B. Michaels (Terminator films, etc.) and John Daly (The Last Emperor). In addition, she produced the documentary film Turkey---A Country Between Two Worlds, that was shot in a Kurdish war zone in east Turkey, consulted on the documentary film about DeSean Jackson called #10 DeSean Jackson: The Making of a Father's Dream, and produced an award-winning live-action children’s show The Adventures of Dave & Becky.

She’s currently producing a social impact documentary BLUE COLLAR AMERICA with Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning director Mark Mori (Building Bombs, Bettie Page Reveals All, etc.) and writing the book and screenplay entitled: The Accidental Arms Broker, based on her true story and how the character PR's her way out of death in 1982 while held captive by Kurdish rebels in East Turkey. (see actual logline in logline section). She has four other book adaptations of true-life stories in development. One is based on her experience with an Area-51 whistleblower that is a shit-your-pants grounded sci-fi TV series.

Unique traits: I’ve climbed Mr. Nemut (7,000 ft), survived a shipwreck in the Greek Isles, successfully negotiated the U.S. trade war with China in ’96, and brokered amnesty for fugitive Bill Hayes (Midnight Express). I am the first American woman to be a consultant to the Turkish government (1982-1992), including President Ozal’s office, the Ministry of Defense, and three other ministries. Fun Fact: My code name during negotiations in the PRC in ’96 was DA-LING, because I called everyone “darling”. I live in Los Angeles, California, with my husband and a goldfish named Tommy that’s battery-powered. A plaque on the wall reads: “I only have a kitchen because it came with the house.”
