SYNOPSIS:

After spending 41 years in prison for killing his wife’s lover, HARLEY BOONE returns to the town of Markham, Ontario as an old man to uncover the murder of his 11-year-old sister, Lucy. In the summer of 1962, 15-year-old Harley and his two best friends — scrappy GRACE FLANNERY and fun-loving, eccentric SAMMY JONES crack a plan to run away and save Lucy from her negligent and abusive parents. But when Lucy ends up dead on the day of their escape, Harley is blamed — changing the course of his life forever.

As we retrace the summer of ’62, we dive into the twisted past of Harley’s parents — PAMELA and TUCKER BOONE, the coming-of- age story of our three teenagers, and we meet MR. JASPER ACKER — a mysterious neighbour who shows up out of nowhere with a secret that rocks this little community. Told through three time periods — the 60s, 80s and Present, Harley tackles the psychological and emotional damage of one man destined to become a monster.
