Andy’s passion and dedication to entertain his audience started around the same time he wrote and performed a one-man play about Charlie Chaplin’s life in grade school. Since then, he’s been obsessed with conjuring up stories and characters that evolve, surprise, and resonate. While writing soapy dramas was his childhood dream, he’s developed into a multi-faceted writer that challenges the way we tell stories and digs deep to craft original ideas that stay with you.
He wrote and executive produced two successful, sold-out runs of the WWII stage play, State of Women in Toronto, and sold a movie treatment based on a true story about a football player who left the war- torn country of Mozambique. His psychological drama pilot, Harley, has been a short-list finalist in three reputable competitions including ScreenCraft 2020 (top 5 out of 3000+ submissions), Shore Scripts (2021) and The Golden Script (2021). Harley currently sits in the top 1% on Coverfly.
After receiving Honors at the University of Toronto’s Creative Writing Program, he published his first children’s novel, The Blood Mile.
When he’s not writing scripts, Andy is a senior writer in the advertising and brand world—crafting big ideas for Fortune 500 companies. He’s always pushing ideas further to draw out emotional reactions, no matter the medium.
What does this all tell you? Andy loves to create, collaborate, challenge and work within multiple genres and mediums. His goal is to create original content and bring his unique voice and perspective to a writer’s room. He lives in Toronto, Canada with his partner and adorable beagle.
