About Howard

I began writing my TV spec scripts, learning and refining the art of screenwriting. Being a family physician for thirty years, I listen to stories and have learned from people from all walks of life.
I have realized that the art of medicine and the art of writing share many similarities. Each profession has a unique writing format specific to its industry. Both take time to learn the nuances of their craft. Physicians and writers improve with more experience and exposure. So, keep writing.
But, maybe most importantly, both professions do not exist in a vacuum. We collaborate with others to find that diagnosis or to hone that gripping story. That is why I am here on Stage 32. So, I welcome input from anyone interested in my creations. I have really thick skin, so please fire off your honest opinions. In return, I would offer to collaborate with other creatives working on medically-based or civil war-era scripts with some front-line, real-world perspective. Thank you for your interest in my work. Happy Writing!
