About Effie

I worked for over a decade in acting, casting, directing, and coaching actors. I have had several years of method acting and am a SAG actress. I've been an assistant to a casting director, as well as casting my own short films. I was an established and well-respected acting coach in the State of Florida and had positive working relationships with other casting directors and talent agencies. I've also worked locally as a script consultant in the past.

Regarding my writing career - it is just beginning although I've been writing for years. I've written 3 screenplays, one of which is a limited series. I've gone to festivals and attended workshops such as Robert McKee's Story. I've pitched. I've made pitch decks. I've got synopses. I've done my due diligence as far as homework and paying close attention.

My brand is writing stories that challenge norms and the status quo. I hope that when viewers are finished watching they'll be compelled to talk about it! I create characters with distinct voices and arcs. Even antagonists should create empathy at times in viewers. And I love to include children in my stories because they see things so differently from adults. Consider Jo Jo Rabbit or Pan's Labyrinth for instance and you'll understand what I'm saying.

My genres of choice are magical realism, drama, science fiction, historical, fantasy, and horror.
