Dominick Schoute was born in The Netherlands. After graduating Media School he started camera operating in regional news, shooting over a hundred items a year. After that he was asked by a production company to be there second cameraman, with whom he learned a lot about the professional business of corporate film making. At the same time he did national music festivals, documentary and volunteered for a religious program. All before he was 22 years of age.
After having done so many camera operating jobs he decided to learn more about lighting and studied at the well known Film School in Prague, lighting and shooting many short films. He graduated with a specialization in cinematography in 2012.
