LOGLINE: A struggling radio station in the Depression broadcasts the exploits of an unbeatable baseball team to boost ratings. The trouble is, the team doesn't exist.

SYNOPSIS:

It's the height of the Depression in 1933 Iowa and struggling WZBQ is losing ratings and advertisers. The station manager's daughter arrives in town to try to convince her father to sell the station. Instead, she is convinced by the handsome Programming Manager to create the Baker City Cougars, the greatest baseball team never to exist. The station invents the games and the Cougars, a team that never loses, and broadcasts the games over the air. Soon the ratings are soaring and advertisers can't buy ads fast enough. Everything looks rosy for WZBQ until Life Magazine accidentally stumbles on Baker City and wants to do a story on the Cougars. This homage to the screwball comedy is a family friendly film with a surprise ending which proves inspirational and prophetic.
