SYNOPSIS:

Set in Los Angeles, SWEETHEART tells the story of Alex, a women fighting for her life after she kills a man she was supposed to protect during a shady drug deal. Needless to say, her employer is not happy and neither is the Chicago mob. When the mob boss narrowly escapes an assassination attempt, he assumes these events are related and takes off for L.A. to get some answers. What he doesn’t know is that the dead guy’s brother, Carter was the one who put the hit out on him. The psychopathic Carter heads to L.A. so he can finish the job and avenge his brother’s death. Added to this, Alex has caught the attention of the Crimson Dragons, a Chinese crime organization, led by the enigmatic Mother, who set up the drug deal that started it all. Alex is on the run, with no one to trust but her friend Maxine and a dirty cop with questionable motives. Lives are lost and hidden relationships are revealed as Alex must use her looks, her charm, and especially her gun if she’s going to stay alive. SWEETHEART is an edgy crime thriller with a host of memorable characters, sharp dialogue and dark humor throughout.
