In 2021, Anna was one of only six screenwriters selected by The Black List to participate in the Black List New Zealand project. Her feature film screenplay 'Bara' previously won the NZWG Best Unproduced Feature Film Script competition (2015).
Between 2015 to 2021, Anna wrote dialogue and worked the story table for New Zealand's longest-running serial TV drama, Shortland Street.
Originally trained as an actor, Anna went on to stage manage plays including Shane Bosher’s Angels In America, and Toa Fraser’s Pure and Deep. She remains ever grateful for untold weeks spent investigating story and character. In 2012, Anna entered Auckland’s Short + Sweet Festival. The play she directed won Best Newcomer, Best Actress, and Best Overall Production.
