I grew up on 'Blaxploitation' films, Spike Lee Joints, John Singleton classics, The Hughes Brothers, Black romances like Love Jones and Love & Basketball and often rewatch episodes from Insecure, I May Destroy You, and The Chi.

I am inspired by the ways in which Issa Rae, Leina Waithe, and Maichaela Coel have taken where they're from and crafted nuanced black stories that explore culturally relevant relationship dynamics in the Black community. I seek to do the same, but in my own distinct voice.
