SYNOPSIS:

Mike Guerrini maguerini@msn.com (617) 833-7979 SYNOPSIS; CONSTANT CRAVING GENRE; ACTION/DRAMA Everyone wants to speak to NICK BIAGGIO(41). Two members of the Italian mob in East Boston stop by his private investigation office where one gets pummeled while the other gets pancaked by a truck. The police want to know what happened and why violent gangland outbursts have recently increased on the streets of Boston. Biaggio, a former disgraced, decorated detective with serious alcohol and drug problems, tells old friend and former workmate STEVEN TYLER(49) and CAPTAIN HENDRON(51) he doesn't know a thing or wouldn't rat if he did have any information. Biaggio gets back to his apartment and is met by the head of the family, RAY “SHOESTRING” MORINI(62) who wants to hire Biaggio to find out who kidnapped daughter MARIA(34) and grandson 'LITTLE RAY'. Morini drops a bombshell on Biaggio. He suspects Biaggio's former partner ROBERTO SANCHEZ(40), a low to mid level drug dealer in the city of Lynn is behind the abduction. Biaggio visits Sanchez, who denies kidnapping anybody but then is ambushed by unknown assailants. They run for their lives and hide out at Biaggio's secretary's home. At the same time JOEY YANG(38) and his second in charge, JOHN LU CHIN(34) meet three Charlestown Townies near the Shipyard to buy highly potent synthetic heroin. During the meeting Chin kills the Townies and Yang walks off with the product. The next morning Biaggio and Sanchez meet with Morini at his “social” club to mend their differences. Morini tells the men his crew stole some coke from Yang and sold it to one of Sanchez' soldiers and now wants it back along with interest, his family. Morini hires the men to get back his daughter and grandson no matter the consequences. Biaggio begins to realize he's being followed by two Asian men. At a bar he sneaks up on them, knocks them around, and finds out Yang's hired them to tail and watch his every move. Biaggio pays Yang a visit at his Chinatown restaurant. After a bloody ruckus out front Yang tells Biaggio a story of how he got out of Vietnam and made his may to the States. He explains that through his advances up the ladder that “business is Life” and he'll do everything possible to preserve that right. Tyler stops by Biaggio's telling him he's been sent by Hendron to pick him up. A very hung over Biaggio asks Tyler to give him a few hours to figure out what's going to happen before the city explodes. Biaggio asks Tyler why these men go by the old adage; “poor men want to be rich, rich men want to be kings”. Tyler explains the constant craving for power is a far worse drug than anything on the streets. Biaggio sets up a meeting with the kidnappers. He is taken to a seedy hotel where he kills three of the kidnappers before he's shot. The lone kidnapper grabs Maria and 'Little Ray' and leaves before Sanchez and his men find Biaggio bleeding on the hotel room floor. Twelve hours, and one fever pitched dream that will change his life, Biaggio wakes up at one of Sanchez' safe houses. Tired and beaten, Biaggio barely gets out of bed , calls Morini, and tells Sanchez to be ready for another assault at another hotel. Biaggio, Sanchez, and his men take over a hotel lobby, sneak upstairs, and in a violent gunfight, ambush the remaining kidnappers, and rescue Morini's family. Yang finds out about the hotel incident and orders Chin and chauffeur JOHNNY YAK(40) to go by Biaggio's place and by any means pick him up. Biaggio enters his apartment, gets knocked out and dragged to one of Yang's noodle factories. Yang demands his money. Beaten and exhausted, Biaggio laughs in his face. Yang punches Biaggio and tells Chin and Yak to make his death look like an accident. They drag Biaggio into a noodle vat and drown him. But suddenly, Biaggio jumps up, stabs Yak in the liver, uses him as a shield, fights Chin, and finally snaps his neck. As he leaves the factory Biaggio runs into Sanchez and Tyler. Biaggio grabs Tyler's keys, throws them to Sanchez, and go after Yang while Tyler runs into the factory. Detective KEN ARCHER(37), Tyler's ambitious partner, receives forensic evidence that Biaggio shot and killed the Townies in the Shipyard. Just as he's about to put out an A.P.B. on Biaggio Hendron stops and explains to Archer Biaggio's being set up and framed. With Sanchez driving, they spot Yang's limo and get into a chase involving gunfire, slamming into each other, and going the wrong way into traffic. Sanchez ends up smashing the limo and making it roll over and crash. Biaggio gets out and by foot chases Yang through the alleys and warehouses of the Shipyard. The two men meet up on the USS Constitution, aka, “Old Ironsides”. Biaggio drops his gun and bets Yang that the first one off the boat wins. A violent, intense hand to hand combat takes place where both men beat each other at an exhausting rate. Yang gets the upper hand and as he's about to hang Biaggio, Biaggio reverses the situation, tells Yang his “business is life” motto just went bankrupt, and throws Yang off the ship. Yang's neck snaps and lands three feet from the water, hanging in the night as police cars, and helicopter lights surround the harbor. Six weeks later Biaggio Investigations has a new look and a 500% growth in business. Sanchez now runs the Boston office with Tyler doing some night shifts, and Biaggio has opened a branch in Key West as he rehabilitates. Tyler tells Biaggio order in Boston is back in place and everyone involved has been put away. He also says all the drugs have been found but Yang's briefcase full of money is missing. Biaggio smiles as he closes his safe and tells the guys to keep up the good work . He jumps onto a boat and drives into the sunny waters of the Caribbean. THE END
