Jason OBrien

Jason O'Brien is an award winning director, producer, writer, and editor with extensive experience in Independent Film and Documentaries. His production company, Fast Lane Productions (), specializes in producing short and feature films, in addition to providing video filming and editing services of all kinds to both individuals and corporate clients.

In 2004, Jason was Executive Producer, Producer, and Director of Killing Christian, a dark romantic comedy and the subsequent Documentary, How to Kill Christian: Or How We Made Our First Movie and Didn't Kill Each Other. In 2008, he wrote the feature film, Beautiful Torment, a modern day "Breakfast Club" set during their 20 year high school reunion. Jason went on to write, Executive Produce, and Produce a short film that took two of the characters from the feature and imagined their lives a year after the events in the film, which resulted in the 2011 film After the Torment, which on its own ended up as an Official Selection in 6 film festivals, and won two awards, including a Golden Ace Award from the 2012 Las Vegas Film Festival.

In 2014, Jason created one of his most ambitious projects, the acclaimed feature documentary Cuddle, capturing the pay-for-cuddling movement that is currently on the rise around the world and the phenomenon of cuddle parties in the past few years. Cuddle, partially financed by a successful IndieGoGo crowd-sourcing fundraising campaign, was an official selection at 2 film festivals and has recently acquired distribution, to be released across multiple platforms on December 1, 2015.

Also in 2014, he completed a new short film about 4 southern women called The Other Side of Laughter, and in 2015, began planning and production on a trilogy of short films all centered around relationship themes called "The Relationship Trilogy", the first of which is "Two Sugars."
