The lives of a big-time actor embroiled in controversy, a drug dealer fresh out of prison, and a wide-eyed actress dealing with a "Me Too" scandal become entangled with a drug-dealing conspiracy and an ambitious reporter involved in the phone hacking scandal willing to make front-page news at any cost.

SYNOPSIS:

We open with an intercut sequence in London showing JOEL, an aspiring actor, readying for an audition with director HAROLD JENKINS and his CASTING DIRECTOR. Meanwhile, we meet JACK, a slick drug dealer, conducting a sale to a customer who ends up being an undercover cop. As Joel goes through his audition, Jack heads to prison. Harold offers Joel the part, but at the price of becoming little more than a "number." We also meet SCARLET, a beautiful escort peddling her wares on the streets. Cut out to the flashy première of Joel's feature début, which is received rapturously. At the offices of the News Of The World newspaper, MARCUS, an ambitious reporter, receives encrypted files from his on-call Russian hacker, ALEKS. This information is disseminated via the newspaper -- a slam dunk story which implicates superstar actor JOHNNY DAGAN in an abuse scandal involving his wife AMBER ROSE. Marcus's boss JAMIE is thrilled with the story.

We then cut to Johnny Dagan himself in the midst of threatening to kill Amber for the story leaking. She calls the police and Johnny is taken away in cuffs. Jack is released from jail and picked up by his friend JASON. Meanwhile, a CORRUPT OFFICER watches the news of Johnny's hearing beginning as he speaks with his GIRLFRIEND. He's in a good mood due to making some extra money, which his girlfriend infers is due to him taking "back-handers." JOHNNY'S SOLICITOR and AMBER'S SOLICITOR meet to discuss a settlement. Johnny is appalled to learn that he's to pay Amber three million pounds sterling or else all the sordid details of their relationship will hit the press. Johnny is reticent, but his solicitor persuades him to take the deal.

Jason brings Jack to meet with MASON, an older criminal and his former boss. Mason presents Jack with a wad of money, then gives him a job. An associate of their organisation, LARRY WINKLEMAN, the famed movie producer, has a daughter named CLAUDIA, who's recently run away and fallen into drug addiction. Jack is now tasked with finding Claudia. Jack calls the Corrupt Officer and asks him to put a trace on Claudia. Jack then meets up with Scarlet and, after having sex, they talk about how Mason has changed and his star-chasing ways. Scarlet wants to be in the world of glitz and glamour herself and is looking for her ticket to the top. Johnny chats with his agent, JUSTICE who asks if he's read any new scripts, only to be rebuffed.

Jack gets a tap on Claudia's location and heads over to the dilapidated manor house with Jason. There, Claudia does drugs with her boyfriend ZACK and another JUNKIE. Meanwhile, Scarlet meets and charms Johnny at a bar. Jack bursts in and confronts Claudia. Zack tries to convince her not to leave, but Jack informs her that Zack is just a fraudster out for her money. Suddenly, Zack snaps and grabs a gun from Junkie, firing at Jack and hitting him in the shoulder. Jason shoots back, killing Zack. Then, Jack takes a bereft Claudia home while Johnny ends up having sex with Scarlet. In the hospital, Jack meets Larry Winkleman, who thanks him for saving his daughter and asks if there's anything he needs. Jason comes over with a newspaper which shows paparazzi photos of Johnny out with Scarlet. Jack tells Jason he knows Scarlet, and Jason tells him he's got a great idea. He's learned Larry needs a new lead for his film, and now Johnny will need the work after the settlement pay out. He wants Jack to broker the deal for a cut.

Jack is summoned to Larry's office, where Larry asks him to become involved with an elaborate money laundering scheme wherein film finances are funnelled into a drug-dealing apparatus. Jack agrees, then floats the idea of hiring Johnny Dagan for Larry's next project. Larry says it's not a bad thought, so long as Jack can get Johnny to lower his asking price. We then meet a young aspiring actress, ROSE, in the midst of having sex with a coke-dealing THUG for thrills. Meanwhile, Scarlet confides in Johnny that she's in deep with some dangerous criminals and says she got a call from an associate who wants Johnny to meet with Larry. Johnny says he'd be thrilled, but Scarlet wants him to do her a favour in return -- leverage on famous celebs' various indiscretions which she can use for security. We see an example of this when she rats out an actor named JIMMY ROBINSON to the paps for his meth addiction. Marcus then uses this information to get Aleks to hack Jimmy's phone and publish the story in the News Of The World. Johnny meets with Larry about the part with Scarlet present, but refuses to pay his exorbitant fee. Corrupt Officer approaches Jack and warns him that he's playing with fire, but Jack quickly gives him a cut of his payout to "set him straight."

Rose's agent, also Justice calls her in and lets her know that Larry Winkleman wants her to appear in his latest picture; her big break has come at last. Larry meets with Jack and tells him that he harbours a grudge against Mason for having introduced his daughter to drugs. Mason is unaware to the fact that he's lost one hundred thousand pounds as a result of Larry and Jack's scheme but is utterly furious of his loss incurred. Larry and Harold, the director, meet with Rose to discuss the film -- a reboot of Hitchcock's Notorious. Harold asks Rose about her back story, and she explains that her parents were both addicts and she always dreamed of an escape. Harold is completely smitten with Rose, so he and Larry sign her on to the project. Later, on set, Harold directs a romantic scene between Rose and Joel. Harold's not happy with Joel's performance so he steps in to demonstrate how to properly hold Rose, grabbing her ass in the process. Rose remarks to Joel that she's tired of being sexually harassed by Harold.

Harold comes to visit Rose in her trailer and tells her outright that he wants her. When she turns him down, he threatens her career and says he could find more "willing" actresses instead. He pounces on her and rips her clothes off as she flails helplessly. Rose is then forced to do a promotional interview with her co-star, though her heart isn't in it. Mason calls Jack and, oblivious to his involvement, asks to help him find out who's been screwing him over. Meanwhile, Johnny frets over his ailing career, but Scarlet says she has a plan to help -- a dealer she knows who might be able to get him enough money to hold him over. She calls Jack and asks him to front the capital in exchange for product, which he agrees to do. Jack then tells Mason about the plan, setting up a triple cross.

Justice talks with a cut-throat distributor, MAX, who wants to buy distribution of Rose's upcoming film. Justice tries to sell him on Johnny, but Max won't bite. Johnny and Scarlet go to meet Mason and Jack to discuss the coke transaction. Jack tells Johnny he'll double his investment for twenty percent. Johnny is tight at first, but then agrees to make the cash transfer while Scarlet rails cocaine. After the meeting, an infuriated Johnny breaks up with Scarlet. Devastated, Scarlet calls Marcus and rats out Johnny for his drug investment. Aleks gets the info from Marcus and gets to working his magic. Later, at a nightclub, Rose and Joel are approached by Johnny, who takes an immediate interest to Rose. Joel takes his cue and leaves while Johnny chats up Rose, who eventually breaks down and confides in Johnny about what Harold did to her. They then make love.

Before long, news leaks of Johnny's night out with Rose. We meet SMITH, an assistant

publicist, who rapidly spins the story to the press to pump up Rose's profile. Rose is called in by Justice, who tells her Harold is disappointed and feels she's not showing enough dedication by seeing Johnny. Justice then gives Rose two tickets to the première of the new Bond movie. Scarlet is disgusted to find that Johnny is seeing Rose, and his own agent doesn't approve either. Nonetheless, Johnny then attends the Bond première with Rose, where Jason and Jack are in attendance as well. They start chatting in front of Rose, who's clearly intrigued by Jack. After the film, Harold approaches Rose and grabs her roughly, but both Jack and Johnny intervene on her behalf. Larry dresses down Harold, who wants to replace Rose. But Larry refuses, and is then given a rough talking-to by Johnny, who extorts Larry for one million pounds to keep the rape accusations from Rose private. Meanwhile, Rose opens up to Jack about the assault as well and wants revenge to buy his freedom of ensuring him a legitimate life. Larry then takes Jack aside and tells him that Mason sexually attacked his daughter Claudia at one point -- so now he needs help to get revenge.

Aleks uses his hacker skills to tap Mason's phone line, finding links between the drug dealer and a member of Parliament. Mason wants Johnny to help schmooze this politician. Meanwhile, on set, Harold attempts to apologise to Rose, but she wants nothing to do with him. Over drinks with the MP, Johnny is offered a gig as the spokesperson for a clean energy company for a huge sum. But just when it looks like things are going well, the police burst in and arrest everyone from the tip off from Marcus. Johnny is interrogated by two officers for his involvement, during which he throws Harold under the bus for being a rapist, just as Rose tells Justice about Harold's actions as well. Now that her moment of fated Me-Too reckoning has arrived, will Rose's truth-telling shine a light on the darkest corners of the industry, or will it burn down her career and destroy everyone in her circle -- including Jack who Is plotting revenge to be freed of a life of crime to escape with Rose?
