About Marvin

Marvin D. Bryson is a media professional that has compiled more than 220 episodic credits on 15 television series and numerous film projects over the course of a career that is entering its third decade.

He was born into a military family on Hill Air Force Base, Utah that settled in the Washington, D.C. area when he was 11 years. A scholarship athlete and musician, Marvin eventually turned to a practical profession in the information technology field. After working to help resolve the Y2K problem, he made the fateful decision to apply his technical skills in a more creative way, study film editing, and change careers.

His film studies led him to Hollywood where he had a stint at the world-renowned American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory on the administrative staff. From there he moved on to episodic television post-production working on programming for ABC, TLC and Lifetime among others; most notably a five-season run on NBC's historic Law & Order series.

During this time, Bryson earned membership in to the Motion Picture Editor's Guild (MPEG), and the Producer's Guild of America (PGA) where he penned a sitcom pilot entitled Capital Help based on his IT experience. The project was selected to the PGA 2006 Diversity Workshop. Subsequently, Bryson has penned several one-hour drama and film scripts, and a self help book, Expectancy: A Caregivers Story of Navigating Family Issues Between Retirement and Transition.

He has since returned to the Washington, D.C. area in an effort to be a more hands-on grandpa, working as a Consulting Producer, Screenwriter, Author, and Adjunct Professor.
