About Marvin

Marvin (25), a young passionate screenwriter and full time engineering graduate, wait this isn’t a character introduction. A little bit about myself. I studied Civil Engineering and am currently working as a civil engineering graduate. I found my passion for screenwriting later in my degree. This passion has grown tremendously over the years to the point where I am certain this is what I want to do in my life. I love everything to do with screenwriting including writing scripts, watching movies, and reading scripts.

I like to write family friendly content, particularly for animation. I am a huge advocate for sparking change in the world, thus the topics I focus on lean towards good mental health, body positivity, and overcoming bullying. I feel like such issues aren't talked about enough in the film industry and there is great potential to make a difference in people's lives by discussing such topics. Everyone has dealt with or is currently dealing with such issues. I want to spark change and help everyone to enjoy and learn from my content. While my stories are more for the younger generation, older ones can learn a lot from these stories. I believe I can make a difference and want to see that happen.

A lot of inspiration for my work comes from the studio Disney Pixar. I absolutely adore their films as they focus on real issues that affect people's lives, just like what I write about. Some topics include friendship (Toy Story and Luca), finding your purpose in life (Brave), and social issues (Turning Red and Up), amongst other topics. Another studio that has inspired my work is Cartoon Netowork. This Studio has made a plethora of fantastic content ranging from Steven Universe to The Amazing World of Gumball. My ultimate goal is to get staffed as a tv writer then eventual showrunner and be apart of the team that makes such amazing and wholesome content. I also find inspiration from Sony Picture Animations, most specifically their recent film The Mitchells Vs The Machines. I hope to make great connections with professionals in the industry and my fellow screenwriting peers and meet like minded people on my path to showrunner.
