About Rex

I’m a screenwriter. I’ve written 4 screenplays. Two are polished and sent to two different screenplay contests. The third Screenplay Baltic Union has been recently transcribed in to a word program. Now i need to translate it into final draft.

i’m a retired physician. now i get more time to work on these screenplays. i’ve lived in a variety of states. grew up in northern california, sierra nevada mountain foothills. it was fantastic growing up there. spent a summer in montana. i moved to davis, california for university where i studied environmental toxicology.. moved down to san diego for medical school where i became a legislative liaison for medical students to the american medical student association or AMSA and to the university of california student association or UCSA. in the ucsa i did a survey of uc berkeley science students about health and safety practices of the science departments. it turned out that the survey was a scathing rebuke to the university. i then authored a legislative bill, ‘the student right to know act’ which passed the legislature. the other bill i authored in the california legislature was a minority scholarship based on an increase in physician license fees, a unique funding source at the time.

at the university of oklahoma i did another internship and residency at the university of oklahoma. oh my god, oklahoma. it’s a horrible place for an out gay doctor. so i moved to denmark. i had a medical product which i promoted in denmark and lived there for a year working as a staff physician. after that year i returned to oklahoma where i worked as an ER doctor around the state. i finally had had enough of the homophobia and moved to washington state.

in washington i worked as a staff physician for an institution for the severely disabled. finally, i took early retirement and moved to guadalajara, mexico.

after i left medical school, i did a medical internship in stockton, california. my residency was at the university of arizona in tucson. there i studied occupational and environmental medicine, and learned about industrial hygiene.

Unique traits: I have a great dog! I live in mexico. when we moved here from seattle his name was Stockton, because that’s where he came from. however when we moved here nobody could pronounce Stockton .so i changed his name to perrito, which means little dog in spanish. everyone chuckles. more people know his name better than mine.
