About Kinyumba

Kinyumba Mutakabbir’s star is on the rise and he is continuing to make his mark in Hollywood. You can find him currently on BET starring in the Theatrically Releases Ttrilogy True To The Game 2. TTG2 was the highest grossing independent film of 2020, based on the books of Terri Woods. Kinuymba plays Mike, a rugged detective from South Philly and can be found alongside a star studded cast including Columbus Short, Vivica Fox, Darius McCrary, and Jeremy Meeks. TTG3 is slated for release in spring 2022 where Kinyumba will reprise the role of Mike.

Additional upcoming features include his role as Josh in the AMC channel release of Line Sisters, slated for winter 2021. He was also featured in FOXs television series STAR. The recently canceled hour-long drama, executive produced, written, and directed by Lee Danies, Mutakabbir played the love interest of Queen Latifa and the billionaire benefactor of her recording artist and can be found on Hulu.

Mutakabbir’s credits include network films such as Coins For Christmas along side Essence Atkins (Marlon, A Haunted House), Slammed with Patricia De Leon(Mayans FC, A-X-L), and the face of both of Ben Rasmey’s indie films- Black Salt and Interface. Both Black Salt and Interface were Urban Action Showcase winners and highlighted Kinyumba’s extensive martial arts and military combat training.

His place in television history is set as a lead in Cinemax’s first all black male led series, Zane's The Jump Off, written by New York Times bestselling author Zane. His additional TV credits include appearances on 69 Whiskey, The Catch, Angie Tribecca, Bold and The Beautiful, The Haunted Hathaways, Entourage, Iron Man 2, Dark Blue, and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne .
In addition to acting, he has started a budding production company, Kinsmen Studios, specializing in provocative and action driving story telling, drama, and timely content. The company’s first project, Nguvu Kwa Watu(Power to the People) is a one man monologue short-doc that creatively expounds upon the plight of black people fighting for justice in America and the 2020 protests.

Kinyumba’s charitable work includes dedicating time to the grassroots organization New Earth Life, in Los Angeles. The organization focuses on diverting at risk you from prisons creating an environment that facilitates a positive and constructive relationship between local youth and law enforcement. He also spends his downtime as a 8th grade football coach and substitute teacher with several schools throughout Los Angeles, providing scene study classes with a focus on African American studies of classic playwrights.
Mutakabbir is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship, a master instructor of various forms of Martial Arts, and a dedicated student of Ivana Chubbuck.
