SYNOPSIS:
Synopsis Leo Fame and Larry Fortune had been a very successful New York based comedy team for thirty years when their career came to a sudden stop. At the same time an old friend, former employer and Las Vegas hotel king Big Jack Kelly dies and in his will he leaves Leo and Larry an aging Hollywood hotel named the Beverly Rialto. Leo and Larry decide to head to Hollywood planning to sell the hotel and pocket the money but after arriving in Los Angeles Leo tries to convince Larry that they should stay there, run the hotel and try to restart their careers at the same time. Larry always thought that this would happen so he secretly has an old friend and legendary arsonist Tony the Torch pack up his stuff and drive it out to LA. Tony then decides to let another old friend of theirs, comedy ventriloquist Louie Romano make the trip out to LA with him. Louie then insists on bringing his friend and puppet Bada Bing. Meanwhile, back in Hollywood, Leo has decides to reopen the hotel coffee shop and call it Jitters. Leo also decides to purchase a twelve thousand dollar coffee system that he says will attract the Hollywood execs. Larry says he thinks the best plan is to call his friend Tony the Torch and burn the place since the hotel only has insurance value. Larry tells Leo this knowing that Tony is on the way out to LA with Larry’s stuff. Helping Leo and Larry through all this is another old friend and their long time joke writer Jimmy Viola. Jimmy has been with them since the beginning of their career and remains on the payroll even though they are not currently working. Jimmy agrees with Leo that they should stay in LA and takes on the role of assistant hotel manager. Leo then hires Jill Johnson, a former actress and now aspiring writer to help him launch the Jitters coffee shop. Jill is also the daughter of their agent Murray’s sister and is secretly there at the request of her Uncle Murray who knows that his clients will need all the help they can get running this hotel and who also feels Leo and Larry should stay out in Hollywood. After Larry convinces Leo that if he wants him to stay in Hollywood then Leo has to let Larry live in the owners suite of the hotel, Leo reluctantly agrees and then watches Tony the Torch roll all of Larry’s stuff through the lobby realizing that the only one who got burned in this deal was him..
