About Lylah

Lylah Chib Taank is an actor and writer based in the United States and India. She was featured in The Chosen series s3 (2022) and appeared in the Australian short film 'Sufi.' She has also done voiceover work playing a wide range of people for the podcast 'The Other Side of the Story: Slavery in Texas' by Lance Cooper (2021). Taank also has two stage production credits; she played ensemble in the stage production of 'Meek' directed by Andrea L. Hart at The University of Texas at Austin (2021) and Tara/Mara (supporting) in the stage production 'Jinkies!' directed by Braxton Rae at The University of Texas at Austin as part of UTNT shows (2022).

Taank, additionally, holds several writing accolades to her name, her most popular one being 'Breathe' (2018), a narrative piece submitted for the All-India FLARE Artistic Impact competition. She was declared a winner (1st position) in the creative writing section and later had her piece published in the Monosoumi magazine and on the Artistic Impact website. She re-entered the same competition and won 2nd position in the Artistic Impact thINK section with her piece 'The Trees' (2021). Furthermore, Taank won the 3rd position in the All-India HOPE essay contest (2018) and was declared one of the winners of the international Monosoumi competition with her poem 'Stifled' (2022). Overall, Taank has published 'Breathe,' 'The Trees,' and 'Stifled' online and/or in paperback.

Lylah Taank is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin.
