Jerry Jerome was raised in Inglewood, California, the best city next to Los Angeles that the world has ever produced. The son of Haitian immigrants, as a child he made the independent decision to become a police officer, but asked for permission to be a writer because the later choice seemed just too risky. After going to college, he forgoed going into law enforcement and decided to pursue a career in secondary education, primarily due to the high level of respect afforded by high school students to english teachers.
Notwithstanding his professional obligations as an educator the desire to write never left him, as a result Jerry continued working on creative projects with friends, writing small pieces to sharpen his skills with, reflecting on film and television series by creating a curriculum for and teaching an introductory secondary course on critical theory as applied to film, meeting with and asking for insights from professional writers, and even enrolled in the Masters Film Program at Mount Saint Mary’s. While at Mount Saint Mary’s, Jerry was able to work on several short films serving as a director, writer, script coordinator, camera operator, grip, and boom operator.
Presently, Jerry is working on two pilots one for an anthology short series, another for a period political piece composed for television as a one hour multi-year limited series.
