About Edyta

Edyta Niewinska is a screenwriter and script doctor. A member of ASECAN (Andalusian Screenwriters’ Association) and AAMMA (Andalucian Female Filmmakers Association). Works as a jury at festivals, teaches screenwriting at the film school ME in Cadiz, Spain.

Author of three novels: Kosovo (2012), Levante (2015) and Under the Surface (2018). She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology of the Arts and is a certified NGO trainer in the area of human and minorities’ rights. Former book critic and columnist for the literary magazine ZIO. She writes novels in Polish, teaches, consults and writes screenplays in English and Spanish.

Unique traits: My superpower is analysing the screenplays and seeing clearly what isn't working, what needs to be fixed and what can be just thrown out to the trashes. I'm pretty much merciless, because I believe that we only want good stories and we want them to be told in an interesting, intriguing way. And my job is to make sure it works exactly this way.
