“1926” is the story of the greatest World Series ever played. The New York Yankees of Ruth and Gehrig faced the upstart St. Louis Cardinals led by two feuding stars--Rogers Hornsby, the acerbic but talented player/manger, and Grover Cleveland Alexander, an aging alcoholic pitcher trying to hang on in the game. The series culminated in a seven game classic.
