About Darnetha

Darnetha Lincoln M'Baye is a music consultant with 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She holds a B.A. from Wake Forest University and an M.F.A.from the Florida State University Film Conservatory. She freelanced in film and film festival production before landing at EMI Music Publishing where she rose through the ranks to become the vice president of film and stage.

Darnetha has negotiated hundreds of music deals for TV, films, trailers, musicals and dance. Her roster of film and TV clients includes Warner Bros., The Weinstein Co., ESPN, BET and The Oprah Winfrey Show. For theater, she has negotiated numerous deals, including Broadway/West End productions of Rock Of Ages, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, Baby It's You, Death Of A Salesman and Rocky. Most notably, she worked with Andrew Lloyd Weber to negotiate the worldwide revival of the Wizard Of Oz.

Through this wealth of experience, Darnetha mastered the art of blending creative vision with an understanding of fiscal management and entertainment law. She has a proven track record of successful project management, strategy development and team leadership. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with students and has been a guest speaker at New York University and The School of Visual Arts. She holds memberships in New York Women In Film & Television and the Independent Feature Project.

As an outlet for her creative vision, she founded Roots In Revolution, a dance company, through which she displays her talent as a dancer/choreographer. In addition to work created for Roots, she has performed with other NYC companies and completed five pieces commissioned by Long Island University. She resides in NYC with her husband and son.
