Simona Kanjevac

My name is Simona Kanjevac, and from the earliest days, I expressed myself through the visual arts, acting and writing.
I enrolled in Art High School „Tehnoart Beograd“, and as I was highly ranked on the list of candidates, I enrolled in the prestigious department of graphic design. I also was part of the first generation of the Photography Studio. I participated in several poetry competitions, and had 4 group exhibitions (graphics, sculpture, design). From the earliest days, I have been dealing with portraits through visual arts, theater and psychology. That's why I've often been hired to shape a lot of characters. Until I was 17 I wrote for several plays for youth, I was a director and acted in plays: The Little Prince (Narrator), Around the World in 80 Days (roles: Narrator), Izbiračnica/Voter (roles: Saveta), Snow White and 7 Dwarfs (roles: Snow White).
At the invitation of a drama teacher in high school, I acted in the philosophical play Sofia (role: young Sofia). I went to the theater at the Youth Center in Belgrade, organized by director Aleksandar Volić. I enrolled at the Faculty of Education at the University of Belgrade, and acted in 4 exam performances in the subjects of drama and movement field.
In my first year of studying, I opened a Performing Arts Studio. I wrote the screenplay for the film My Story, which follows friends of different ages who meet at sea. The film consists of three different stories that are gradually revealed and intertwined.
I have been doing scientific work at the University for seven years (I have published works in the field of creativity, language, literature and series) and I opened the Center for Scientific Research of Students at the Faculty of Education and organized several scientific trips, events and promotion of scientific work for young people.
I wrote the screenplay for the short artistic and educational film The (Gifted) One. I enrolled in two masters in University of Belgrade: one at the faculty where I graduated, and the other at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, majoring in Pedagogy and Andragogy. At the invitation of the well-known professor of literature for children and youth, Zorana Opačić, I am currently finishing work about Intermediality and film adaptation of the character of Maleficent in Robert Stromberg's film. The research paper should be published in the famous scientific journal Childhood.
I have been dealing with cultural journalism for 5 years and I have collaborated with artists such as Brian Rašić, Raša Bukvić, Marina Abramović etc. (Balkan Travel Journal). Two years ago, I completed Music Education (realised by Femix Organization) in the Manager & Organizer for Music Event group, after which I was invited to Charm Music and worked as Social Media Marketing.
After that I opened my own organization named Urban Muse – Live Scenes! Since August 2021, I have organized several musical, poetry and cultural shows and realized my first Urban Muse Festival (3-days).
In the last three months, I have acted in 7 music videos, after which I was invited to act in a new film.
This year, my wish is to unite my performing, organizational, scientific and educational side in the cinematographic challenge, in order to become part of the author's team on international projects.
