Pilot Episode Description:

After witnessing the death of a man when he was ten and learning his father's true occupation as a drug dealer, Victor grows up with a disdain for the business he was forced into by his manipulative father, Frank Sharp. Wanting nothing more then to rid himself of his father and the business which has halted progression within his life, Victor concentrates his time on his two passions: his screenwriting and his girlfriend, Christina Dougan.

As Victor writes his first feature film for production company, "Mammoth Films", and devious movie producer, Winston Channing, his father insists on a meeting with new clients which Victor has a bad feeling about.

After returning home, Victor encourages his girlfriend to get a job which she seems skeptical about. The love he has for her is felt, but the tension created by his father and the occupation he can never tell her about, seems to prevent Victor from being fully involved in the relationship.

The following morning, Victor wakes up early and sneaks into his bedroom where he uncovers a baggie of cocaine. As Victor prepares to snort a line, Christina enters the bedroom and immediately questions Victor on his drug use, which she had no prior knowledge of. Victor grows concerned about Christina discovering his side business as a drug dealer, so in order to protect his girlfriend, he breaks up with her. This becomes a decision that he immediately regrets.

Victor, feeling horrible, decides to stop by "The Splitting Aces", a strip club co-owned by his father alongside former middle-weight championship boxer, Gage Bryson. Victor orders a drink, and after telling Gage that he just broke up with his girlfriend, he finds himself in an altercation with the veteran fighter who told him that he made the right decision by ridding himself of his psycho girlfriend. After smashing Gage's nose against the bar, Victor is told that without his father that he would have nothing and that he'd be nothing. Victor leaves the bar a short time later, only for Gage to hint at a potential double-cross which would occur during the meeting with the new clients.

Victor returns home to an empty house, only to receive a phone call from his father who insists that he meet him at "Sharp Industries", a legitimate enterprise used as a front to help smuggle cocaine into the United States.

Victor arrives at "Sharp Industries" a short time later, feeling exhausted. His father leads him to a small cargo plane where he uncovers a Venus De Milo statue. Frank shows his son the statue with a gleeful smile. Victor, baffled, questions the importance in the statue. Frank then goes on to explain how the statue would be used to help smuggle cocaine into the U.S. Victor, who has grown furious, questions his father on how much this idea of his set them back. Frank, who's a master of misdirection, turns the tables on Victor and asks him what the hell has been going on with him. Victor fails an initial reaction before telling his father that after the meeting that night, that he was done for good with the family business and would be concentrating all of his energy on making a name for himself in the film industry.

Victor arrives back home, feeling completely drained. He begins to write, but finding little inspiration, he is quick to give up. A short time later, he enters his bedroom where he finds an imprint in the mattress left by Christina which he runs his hand across while apologizing. Suddenly, Christina appears in the doorway and asks Victor what he's apologizing for. Victor can't help but choke up as he apologizes to Christina before promising that after that night, he would never allow drugs to get in the way of their happiness again. Victor then brushes away tears from Christina's cheek before kissing her which leads to them making passionate love.

Victor arrives at "The Splitting Aces" two hours later. After entering the club, he is spotted by Winston who's watching the nights entertainment. Winston spots Victor enter the V.I.P. Lounge of the club, but thinks nothing of it. After entering the V.I.P. Lounge, Victor is introduced to a man who addresses himself as Alfonso Stefano. Victor and Alfonso immediately clash before Alfonso explains to Victor how years earlier, he dreamed of growing up to become an actor. The conversation continues onward as the tension builds. Frank and Gage both seem to grow impatient with Alfonso until he brings up a seemingly irrelevant story of how he killed a cop and his family years earlier with a car bomb. This seems to put everyone on edge, especially Victor. At this point in time, Alfonso discusses his disdain for the writing in TV and movies and how, in real life, to actually defeat evil it takes one hell of a lot more preparation then what is shown in the entertainment industry. Suddenly, Frank begins to piece everything together, and that's when Antonio Leglasious, an enemy from his past enters the Lounge. Fifteen years prior, Frank was responsible for the death of Antonio's family, and now, Antonio plans on exacting his revenge. Before going through with killing Frank and Victor, Antonio asks Gage to leave, who was responsible for the double-cross. Before Gage leaves, Frank advises him that if he every steps out of that room, that he'd go after him with everything he has. Gage leaves in regret. After Antonio addresses Victor, Frank comes to his son's defense and urges Antonio to spare the life of his son. Antonio refuses until Frank brings up how Victor, who already possesses some power within the film industry, could help his son, Alfonso become an actor. Antonio can see through the smokescreen and prepares to kill Frank when Alfonso stops his father, advising him that they should take the offer, especially after Victor suggests laundering money into feature films. With this, Frank is escorted out of the Lounge at gunpoint by two large Colombian bodyguards. Victor becomes frantic before being forced to give up his wallet, at which point Antonio knows two things: where he lives and who his girlfriend is. Antonio then tells Victor that he has one more surprise in store for him.

Victor is led at gunpoint through the back exit of the club. As he's forced to get into the trunk of a Cadillac, who else but Winston Channing witnesses it. Winston then makes a run for his Rolls Royce as the Cadillac drives off and follows closely behind.

Victor is forced out of the trunk after arriving at a wrecking yard outside L.A. He is then forced to watch as a car which is holding his father within the trunk is being squished by a car compacter. After repeatedly urging Antonio to shut off the compacter, Victor is forced to hold Antonio at gunpoint with a pistol that was attached to his ankle. Antonio, realizing that he has little choice, advises his men to turn off the compacter which they do. Victor is then told by Antonio how if he wants his father to walk away alive, fucking up isn't an option. Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the wrecking yard, Winston has just witnessed everything. He stores this information, undoubtedly planning on using it to gain power over an already vulnerable Victor.
