I am a former director of Child Welfare and Attendance, at the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District. Prior to that I worked in Public School Law at the Los Angeles County Office of Education. And prior to that I taught Expository Writing; Language and Style; and The Writer's Workshop at Loyola Marymount University, for four years, followed by an invitation from Hughes Helicopters to write MLS490 (Military Helicopters) specifications for a new kind of helicopter, the Apache. Following the publication of my book (while at Norwalk La Mirada USD), "Jack and Jill, Why They Kill: Saving Our Children, Saving Ourselves," Judge William Pounder called me and asked me to apply for a Court Expert position at the Los Angeles Superior Court. For slightly more than twenty years, I worked in that position. I have studied screenwriting with Steve Duncan; David Freeman; and Hal Croasmun. I am also the writer of the novel, "Girl Sinner, Lady Saint: A Diva Redeemed," about a female prison parolee (10 years incarcerated since a teenager) who forms an all femme Hip Hop group called "Jezebel," and whose international popularity founded the "Great Dames Fan Club." In my novel, my protagonist, Candela McQueen, donates millions of dollars annually to worthy causes around the nation.
