FINAL DREAMS

FINAL DREAMS
By Mike Wilczynski

GENRE: Science Fiction, Drama
LOGLINE:

As humanity awakens from the same apocalyptic dream, a struggling husband and father races to reunite his fractured family – realizing that his final acts of love may hold the key to their salvation.

SYNOPSIS:

Furniture-store manager David Grabowski has always felt like a disappointment. He is struggling under the weight of his overbearing father Stanley, jealous of his flashy brother Joey, and drifting farther from the family he loves. His warm, devout mother tries to steer him toward happiness, but David is drowning in bills, doubt, and fear he’ll never be the man he wants to be.

At 6:06 a.m., the world jolts awake from the same terrifying nightmare: a black cloud swallowing the sky, a blinding flash, and the unmistakable feeling that time has run out. David is startled awake next to his anxious wife and their baby—unaware that billions of people worldwide dreamed the same final vision.

Everywhere David goes, people are shaken: a panicked neighbor digging up cable lines, frantic shoppers emptying stores, and a suicide victim who did not have the dream at all. As parts of the globe suddenly lose communication, David senses that the dream wasn’t a nightmare… but a countdown.

Just when David thinks things are hopeless, he catches a break: two long-awaited contracts that could save the family business. Joey convinces him to celebrate, and for a moment it feels like the old days at their favorite bar—until David realizes none of it matters. His happiness isn’t money, success, or a quick fling. The only thing that matters is getting home to his wife and daughter.

As chaos spreads across the city, David fights his way back—on foot—through looters, a burning church, a city unraveling around him. Joey finds him, then brings him home, as the mysterious black cloud descends on every time zone at exactly 6:06 p.m.

The whole Grabowski family gathers at home in prayer, except for Joey. His lack of the dream sets him apart. David discovers his wife’s positive pregnancy test and feels a profound shift—another child means another chance to be the father he never had. He tells her he finally understands: his happiness was in front of him all along. David’s epiphany breaks through generations of hurt, inspiring Stanley to admit his lifelong failures—and his own dream. And then Joey spirals, mocking prayer, unleashing years of jealousy and climbing onto the roof to be alone.

But as the clock approaches 6:06 p.m., disaster strikes. Joey slips off the roof and breaks his arm. Their mother collapses with a heart attack. With roads closed and the world on edge, Stanley risks everything to get her to a hospital. As they back down the driveway… a blinding flash hits. The dream becomes reality.

David and others who showed love for others find themselves in a breathtaking afterlife—peaceful, eternal, surrounded by ancestors. David’s reunited with his now grown daughter and the unborn son he never met. His joy is shattered when he sees his mother grieving over one absence: Joey, who remains trapped in a warped, lonely echo of Earth.

In the truest act of love, David volunteers to trade places with his brother. But Joey refuses—owning the consequences of his life for the first time. That sacrifice redeems him, allowing David to bring Joey to reunite with their family in paradise.

Final Dreams is a supernatural family drama about forgiveness, redemption, and the rediscovery of what truly matters when time is running out – a story of generations healing and a father learning that salvation begins at home.
