SYNOPSIS:
The synopsis for the first episode:
Chyenne and George are awaiting an announcement from Samuel, Chyenne’s father. At first, Chyenne declines but then decides to think about it. Later that night, Samuel treats the family out to dinner to hear Chyenne’s decision. Lillian proposes a toast to Chyenne, saying how proud she is of him. She begins to diss him, unknowingly, by naming the jobs that he applied for but didn’t get. When she leaves to go to the bathroom, Chyenne and Samuel start discussing what the class was doing when Chyenne meets his students. They also discuss the plans for the Fall concert and some of Chyenne’s responsibilities. When Lillian returns, Chyenne reveals his decision. He will take the job. That following Wednesday, Chyenne walks into his new classroom. As he sets up his poster of Ricky Dillard, his first student walks in. It’s Keisha. Keisha catches him by surprise and he falls trying to get off of the chair he was standing in. The rest of the class walks in, and before they could get comfortable in the seats, the students begin to ask Chyenne questions. Chyenne snaps and lets the students know that he is not someone to play with. He begins to teach the students about Dr. Ricky Dillard, a famous choir director. Chyenne has been struggling to try to find a name for the students to call him and still doesn’t know. That evening, Chyenne is talking to his father about doing a Ricky Dillard tribute at the fall concert. Samuel thinks it is a good idea. When he leaves to scare away some kids, George and Angela come in to ask about Chyenne’s first day. It went well. The next day, Chyenne is working on the music with the class. No one knows their vocal range except for Keisha. She sings the song flawlessly and to Chyenne’s liking. But then the other student starts singing and the vocals are all over the place. Chyenne does an exercise with them and they nail it. They even harmonized. As the students are commenting on their amazing vocals, Chyenne is looking at their homework assignments and begins reading them out loud. Chyenne becomes shocked at Joshua’s paper, and Joshua tells why he chose a certain genre. Later that day, when the students leave for lunch, Lillian comes by to bring Chyenne his lunch. Lillian asks Chyenne how his day was going. He told her that he was proud of the work they did that day. Lillian told him that he was a great role model and choir director, and that gave him an idea. The students would call him the “Choirmaster”.
