I started out as a screenwriter and have novelized four of my screenplays. I did this because I'm passionate about my stories and wanted to see them get the attention they deserve. My first book, Unison, was released in 2013. The science fiction novel won honorable mention in the 2014 New York Book Festival. My second book, Jessie's Song, was also released in 2013. It won the bronze medal in the supernatural category in the 2013 Readers' Favorite International Book Awards, and I even wrote a song to accompany the story! The title started out as a high concept screenplay. My third book, Beyond Omega's Sunrise is a quirky end-of-the-world surreal fantasy that was released in 2014. It's a character study of a group of individuals on the eve before Earth's destruction.
My favorite genre to write is science fiction under the umbrella of visionary fiction, but I have no problem branching out. I also like to write fantasy, dramedy, and magic realism. I'm constantly coming up with new concepts and hope to live long enough to write one-hundred books and screenplays! I'm only on hiatus now due to lack of funds.
I'm also one of the founding members of the Visionary Fiction Alliance, a group that aims to promote the genre. The main theme deals with the evolution of human consciousness.
In addition to writing, I'm also a musician with a degree in jazz performance. In 2015 I started to learn how to sing Greek music with the help of a terrific mentor. It started out as something to do for fun, but I fell in love with the music, particularly rebetiko. It reminds me of American blues. My mentor also inspired me to pick up the bass again, and we now have a duo. This may one day end up becoming a story, as I've met some interesting characters during my journey, which continues to this day!
I think big and have aspirations of starting my own production company, but until then I'd like to find other people to network with. If a project interests me, I'm also willing to write on spec.
