About Derek

I've been writing for over 20 years, having published short stories, poetry, and historical articles in U.S. and German magazines. In 2021, because of my knowledge of 19th century history, I was asked if I could comment on the historical accuracy of a Western feature script.

Since that time, I've caught the script writing bug and have completed my first feature, a Western called, The Tejano, that is set in Civil War era Texas.

Currently, I'm working on scripts for two additional features. In terms of story, my favorite areas of exploration tend to lean toward action and the dramatic. Whether it is a film set in space, during the 19th century, or modern-day, I am comfortable with inducing situations that push and pull the characters until the character reacts in a realistic way.

Devil's Knight (2022)
