GUIDO COMIN – a.k.a. PoetaMatusèl – was born in 1951 in Meano di Santa Giustina, a pretty little village, as yet unspoilt by property developers, near Belluno, in north-eastern Italy. After a lifetime spent doing the most disparate types of work in Germany, Switzerland, England and Denmark, he returns to his native Italy in the year 2000. Rediscovering his mother tongue – Italian – gives up almost entirely writing in other European languages, to concentrate on poetry in Italian and, very occasionally, in his native dialect. (The nom de plume PoetaMatusel means “Poet, a bit nutty” in his dialect.) He deliberately writes poetry that is easily accessible for anyone, purposely avoiding elitist or excessively “literary” forms or vocabulary. Even though he has been writing poetry since his childhood days, PoetaMatusel has not published in paper form yet, but only on blogs and other online platforms. He has recently received a flattering proposal from a publisher of poetry books, but not only. He regularly reads his poetry at poetry evenings and other events, often with his performing poetry group – POETI AlterNATIVI BELLUNesi – a bunch of poet friends, who have decided to get together to try and give Poetry a better name among ordinary people!
