About Clint

I'm an 80's baby. Born the second of four in Detroit, Michigan. I love being around family. I love love love art, boxing, coffee, dance, food, movies, music, and laughter. I love to take an artist, whether it's a film director, actor, painter, etc...and learn their catalog of work. For some odd reason, I love numbers. My favorite number is 8 because it's two circles that are stuck together. I also love circles. My favorite color is orange. My favorite vegetables are onions or any of the onion family. My favorite food is BBQ ribs, but I cannot live without tacos and the occasional Chinese takeout. I'm always the designated driver. My favorite thing to do is be with my wife and kids.

I grew up sketching comic book-style art and playing classical piano. Music is a big part of my culture. Every one of my family members plays an instrument. I played a total of five. Having an audio background is a tremendous help in filmmaking. To me, sound design & sound mixing really makes the piece come to life. Upon going to art college, I was told I wasn't good enough and I wouldn't get in. Instead of being discouraged, I enrolled out of state in order to follow my dreams. In college, I studied visual effects. I mainly focused on green screen keying and compositing. After my first year, I couldn't wait to start working in the field. With the help of my counselor, I was able to work at a local news station as a producer in Miami.

But I needed a spark. I didn't move to Florida to go to college and get a job. I moved because I needed the chance to do something big. I wanted to apply everything I learned in one application. Then I said out loud, "I want to be a director...I want to make movies". And the next day, I did. I wrote the story for my first short. And with friends, family, and positive energy I have made six shorts and a series of three webisodes. Three of my films have been shown around the country and I even earned multiple awards for two of them. I also earned awards for my writing.

This is such a huge accomplishment for me because I wasn't academically gifted. I didn't read or write as a child. I just did the bare minimum. Somehow I made it through. In 10th grade, I failed a total of five classes, which I had to make up my senior year. During the day I went to school and at night I made up the classes. I was determined to graduate on time. I was determined to make something of myself. I was determined to prove just because of some setbacks I shouldn't be overlooked.

Looking back I can say it was all worth it. Everything I went through made me the man I am today. It made me the artist I am. In this field and in life I don't take anything personally. I believe life's a journey. There are no right highways to get to your destination. Along the way, you will encounter detours and bumps. These will make you out to be a better person/artist. I aspire to teach others the craft and encourage those to embrace the challenge. The reward will always be a risk. And remember everything and everyone you meet happens for a reason.
