Andrew Michael Tarr

I'm what you might call a multi-hyphenate. It's sort of a blessing and a curse: I've done a little bit, of a lot of different things in my career so far, but not a LOT of any one thing. I'm looking to change that. I moved to L.A. after college to be an actor. I did some work - mostly commercials - for a while. I was in the original Chili's "I Want My Baby Back" Ribs commercial - but even that spot that got a lot of attention, was still just a TV commercial, and they don't exactly launch an acting career.

Not wanting to wait tables in between acting gigs (I'm a terrible waiter!) I learned editing and started working in Post, mostly freelance, with some stints at Fox Sports, E!, and a longterm situation at a local Municipal channel in L.A. I started doing some producing and on-camera hosting there, including a pet adoption show that ran for a few years. I got a couple Emmy nominations while I was there, including one Emmy statue, and a few Telly Awards.

I'm also a singer-songwriter. Again, I haven't launched a career in that realm. But have sold a few jingles, including one to McDonald's. I was recently hired to write a song a feature that comes out this coming Christmas.

I've made a couple attempts at making my first feature film, but haven't yet cracked the code of how to raise the money. I've written four feature-length screenplays, each time attempting to write something that could be shot for close to no money. I THINK my new one is doable: I'm aiming to finally shoot my first "Microbudget" feature this September (2022). But still trying to cobble together the funds. By my calculations, I should be able to get this thing made without having to find investors. Wish me luck!
