About Sandra
I'm an independent film veteran with more than 13 years of experience working in the industry. I started my career in production in the makeup / effects department and quickly became the department head for three projects by Machine City Productions, most notably “Day X” (2005 released by Image Entertainment) and then as an assistant on the Amber Heard feature - All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2007). During that time, I was responsible for the budget for the wardrobe, makeup and special effects (practical effects) departments. I frequently step back into the practical and makeup effects arena when asked to. I've worked on multiple competition films and student films just for the fun of it.
In 2005, she joined the crew of Sabrecat Productions as the Line Producer and Assistant Director. In this role, I was responsible for maintaining the shoot schedule and keeping the costs in check.
I worked as AD for a couple of other projects and then went on to work as Line Producer and Assistant Director for other feature films-- most recent being Marble Rye Media's independent comedy, “The Holy Deuce” in 2009.
Since 2010, I've has taught informal classes for various student film groups and mentored other special effects artists. In 2013, I worked as a hair and makeup artist most recently on "Secrets of a Psychopath" directed by Hollywood legend, Bert I. Gordon.
I'm executive producer on the feature film "Exile" and a producer on "Sixteen South" by Hope Kelley Productions.
I am also an actor and am represented by The Atherton Group if anyone needs a overweight actress for a role.
Unique traits: I work both in the creative land and the business land which makes me a bit different. I am also a working artist under the pseudonym of S.C. Essai ( SCSI ) (www.scsiart.com)
