Vladimir Belov

My name is Vladimir Belov. I'm from Bulgaria and have a bachelor degree in film directing from the New Bulgarian University, Sofia (http://www.nbu.bg/en). Since I graduated, I've been making short features and documentaries with my own equipment, almost at a one man show principle. I've made 2 short features and several documentaries. In my experience as a filmmaker I had the chance to be an assistant-director of 4 documentaries and a co-ordinator of 1 feature narrative film. I have some experience in cinematography (filming on my own with my Canon 550D, unfortunately with no or little additional light), film editing (using Adobe Premiere Pro) and some very, very basic abilities regarding color correction and color grading (I mainly modify Magic Bullet Looks'/Film's presets so that they fit to my vision of the film and color doesn't distort). I have also made several photo shoots (again with no additional light) on my own. I prefer using old MF lenses which I attach to my Canon 550D. I don't like the image of the new low- and middle-class lenses because manufacturers tend to clear optical abberations which leads to a very sharp image. I like soft burnt-out 90s video-like images. Unfortunately some of my works have no English subtitles.
