The Executive Hour with Sarah J. Cornelius

What an awesome Executive Hour to kick off 2020 with Development & Production Executive Sarah J. Cornelius of Whitewater Films. Despite fighting a cold, Sarah powered through and gave us some awesome insights about the business, the inside story of how their film, Standing Up, Falling Down came together with Billy Crystal, what she looks for in a screenwriter, and the best (and worst) advice she ever received in show business!

The Exec Hour with Sierra London McDonald

Sierra London McDonald has spent over a decade shaping scripted and unscripted television concepts across some of the industry's most recognized media companies — including VH1, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal, and WE tv/ALLBLK. At WE tv, she served as Manager of Development and Original Programming, helping create and develop fresh unscripted programming for the network. She also worked on the development of A LA CARTE, which was sold to streaming platform ALLBLK, and throughout her career helped content creators secure paid development deals with major television networks. What made Sierra's perspective especially valuable was the full spectrum of her development experience — spanning programming strategy, concept development, pitch material refinement, and production across both scripted and unscripted formats. Working independently, she collaborates with writers, producers, and creatives to strengthen their concepts and position their projects for network and platform consideration. She maintains strong relationships with network partners across the industry and brings both creative instincts and strategic market knowledge to every project she evaluates. Her work is guided by a deep commitment to content that highlights Black voices and stories — with a particular focus on Drama, Family, Mystery, Suspense, Thriller, Romance, Rom-Com, and Reality. The Exec Hour with Sierra London McDonald gave Stage 32 Writers' Room members direct access to a development executive whose hands-on experience and network relationships span over a decade of television. Whether writers came with a scripted drama, an unscripted concept, or a pitch they wanted to strengthen before taking it to market, Sierra brought the kind of strategic development insight that moves projects forward.
