Stage 32's Thursday Pitch Practice Happy Hour welcomed a very SPECIAL GUEST as our very own Richard Botto joined Noel, John, and the wonderful Writers' Room member for a memorable and notable happy hour! Traditionally, Thursday Pitch Practive is where you can get peer-to-peer feedback from your Writer's Room community on your pitch and project during these weekly practice sessions. Members have improved their pitches week after week and even had their scripts requested as a result of these practice sessions! We were lucky enough to have RB join us and share his knowledge on the industry and how pitches can make develop your project into fruition!
We have a SPECIAL EVENT Webcast with Micah Brocker (Literary Manager at Corvisiero Literary Agency)! Prepare to delve into Micah’s captivating journey and wealth of experience, as she generously imparts invaluable advice on how a manager builds their client list! Don't miss this exclusive opportunity!
This special event brought together two of the most valuable things a working screenwriter can experience in a single session. Kelly Needleman — Coordinating Producer at Wayfarer Studios, the company behind IT ENDS WITH US and EZRA and backed by a $125 million investment — joined us for an Ask Me Anything followed by a live Pitch Tank. Writers got direct access to Kelly's perspective on what makes a pitch land, how studios like Wayfarer evaluate incoming material, and what it takes to develop a project with real commercial and cultural impact. Writers brought their pitches into the room and Kelly helped make them more concise, more compelling, and genuinely market-ready, with specific feedback on story structure, character, and presentation. Whether they pitched live or watched to sharpen their instincts, this was the kind of session that changed how they think about their work.
The Insider Intel Series webcast, where we break down what's happening in the industry right now! If you missed out on this fantastic event with the surprise guest, Writers' Room Members in attendance got the rare opportunity to pitch their loglines live to the Director of Development, Max Lippe, at Coin Operated, Gary Dauberman's production company, responsible for feature films SWAMP THING, THE NUN, and BLUE BEETLE, with a first-look deal at Columbia Pictures. Max gave terrific advice in his notes to our members' loglines, and the webcast was a great success! This is your chance to learn about what’s happening in the industry, get direct access to an executive with a studio-backed production company, and pitch your logline live. Join us for this special opportunity and educational fun right here on Stage 32!
Stage 32 members who tuned in to this Special Event Webcast walked away with a clearer, smarter, and less mysterious understanding of what happens when you hear those magical words: “Let’s talk representation.” In this intimate Zoom Q&A, fellow Stage 32 member Robert Chimento pulled back the curtain on the real-world process of signing with a manager, sharing practical advice, honest experiences, and a few industry truths that every writer should know. Robert spoke from experience. With roots in the Broadway production of Vieux Carré by Tennessee Williams, and training under legendary acting teacher Lee Strasberg, Robert has spent his career immersed in storytelling at the highest level. As a lifetime member and former moderator of The Actors Studio and coordinator of its writers/directors unit under Ernie Martin, he offered viewers a rare insider’s perspective on how craft, collaboration, and career strategy intersect. Viewers gained insight into what managers actually look for when deciding to take on a client, and how the relationship between artist and representation really works once the deal is on the table. Robert also shared lessons from producing acclaimed theater—including the six-month run of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and writing bold screenplays like Follow the Prophet, which premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The result was an honest, practical, and inspiring conversation that helped with representation and the long game of building a creative career. For Stage 32 members looking to understand the path to representation and learn from someone who’s truly navigated the journey, this webcast delivered insight, strategy, and a few invaluable “aha” moments along the way!
