Chris is an accomplished TV Development Executive, helping to develop and sell pilots to CBS, ABC, and NBC. Most recently he was the Director of Development at AfterPortsmouth Productions (Ken Olin, EP/Director of NBC’s THIS IS US) where he sourced, packaged, and developed an expanding slate of TV projects in broadcast, cable, and streaming. Their procedural series TRACKER, starring THIS IS US star Justin Hartley was greenlit for pilot production in Fall 2022 for CBS while their ABC pilot is in active development. Prior to that he was on the development team for former showrunner Peter Lenkov, whose reboots of HAWAII FIVE-0, MAGNUM P.I., and MACGYVER reached millions of viewers over their successful series runs. During this time, Chris worked closely with both Studio and Network executives developing procedural series through their overall deal with CBS-TVS. Prior to working in Scripted Development, he worked in the TV Lit Department at CAA and in the unscripted space at a branded entertainment start-up called Populus Brands. A Hudson Valley native, Chris graduated from Tufts University in Medford, MA with degrees in Classics and Communications and Media Studies, while also running the college’s TV station, TUTV. Q: How do I watch my webinar live?
A: If you received a confirmation that your webinar is on Go to Webinar, you will receive an email from Go to Webinar with further instructions for participating in the live webinar. If you received a confirmation that your webinar is on Zoom, you will receive a separate email from Zoom with further instructions for participating in the live webinar. Your login link will not be in your Stage 32 profile. If you did not receive your link via Zoom please email support@stage32.com.
Q: How do I watch my webinar on demand?
A: You will be able to watch your webinar on demand as many times as you’d like inside your Stage 32 profile. The recording is processed and posted between 24-48 hours after the webinar concludes. You can follow the instructions below.

Q: What is the format of a webinar?
A: Stage 32 Next Level Webinars are typically 90-minute educational broadcasts that take place online using a designated software program from Stage 32. Your webinar will be taught by a working industry professional with in-depth teaching on a topic. If you are able to attend live you will be able to ask your Stage 32 Educator questions during Q&A.
Q: What are the system requirements to watch my webinar live?
A: You will need to meet the following system requirements in order to run the webinar software: Windows 7 or later Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or later.
If you have Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.9 (Mountain Lion): The webinar software does not support these operating systems. If you are running one of those operating systems, please upgrade now in order to be able to view a live webinar. Upgrade your Windows computer / Upgrade your Mac computer.
Q: What if I cannot attend the live webinar?
A: If you cannot attend a live webinar or purchase an on demand webinar, you will have access to the entire recorded broadcast, including the Q&A.
Q: Will I have access to the webinar afterward to re-watch?
A: Yes! Like all Stage 32 education, after the purchase of a live or on demand webinar, you will have on-demand access to the recording.
Q: How do I get a copy of the handouts provided?
A: If the webinar you take included handouts you can find them as downloads underneath your on demand video. You must be logged into your Stage 32 profile to view the video and get the handouts by clicking settings in the top right hand corner, then clicking purchase history.

We're back in the Writers' Room for the Executive Hour Webcast with Netflix Script Analyst Michael Schulman! Michael Schulman is a Feature Story Analyst for Netflix as part of its Independent Original Film Division, and his job revolves around evaluating feature screenplay submissions and deciding which ones to pass up to the executives to consider. Prior to his role at Netflix, Michael spent nearly a decade in the story department at CAA where he found projects for CAA clients. Over his storied career, Michael also served as an agent at ICM’s Motion Picture Literary Department and held numerous studio creative executive positions at Orion, TriStar, and Disney where he worked to develop film and television projects with some of the top talent in the industry. Michael is very familiar with what it takes for a script to find its way to decisionmakers since this has been a key feature of his job for over a decade. This was a great conversation with Michael!
We're back in the Writers' Room for The Executive Hour with David Brownfield. David Brownfield is currently an independent television producer, developing both hour and half-hour scripted series. He served as Senior Vice President of Current Programming at CBS Television for nine years. He was responsible for overseeing the creative development of over 20 scripted series per season, including CSI, NCIS, The Good Wife, The Big Bang Theory, and How I Met Your Mother. In addition to supervising the creative process, David was intricately involved in all aspects of ongoing series, regularly interfacing with senior management for the network’s Scheduling, Marketing, Casting, Digital and Business Affairs departments. He then worked as an executive and producer at Dick Wolf Entertainment, the company behind the LAW AND ORDER, ONE CHICAGO AND FBI franchises. He led creative and production teams for 7 primetime series, while also working on development projects to grow the Wolf brand. Prior to joining Wolf, David was an executive and producer at Entertainment One Television (2016-2018). He oversaw creative and production on Current Series and had several hour and half-hour projects in development. David was also Executive Producer at Eleven Stitches Productions, CBS Television Studios. During this three year production deal, he developed and sold multiple dramas and comedies to broadcast, cable and streaming networks. Before joining CBS, David worked as a comedy writer on several series, including Boy Meets World and The Drew Carey Show.
