Introduce Yourself : So many ideas. by Debra Montague

So many ideas.

Hello everyone. It's late on Sunday, at least, I think it's still Sunday. I'm being pulled in multiple directions by what needs to be done and what I'd like to work on.

I'm currently doing rewrites on a psychological thriller which has a very lame working title. This morning, in that nebulous time when you first become aware it's time to get up, the brain took off on a period action movie romp. No clue where the idea came from. The heroine calls herself "Cherry", but her real name is "Genny", and she's wanted in 8 states and 3 countries. /sigh There's a line from "The Simpsons" which always comes to mind when my brain goes into overdrive like this. "Shut up brain, or I'll poke you with a Q-tip." I did write the concept down in my idea journal so it won't be completely lost.

I've been writing in the gaps in my part-time job but I am nearly out of spoons so dishes need to be done, too. A friend sent me a screenwriting book which simply has to be put on the stack as I am not making time to read because I want to write.

I just popped in to say, "Hello" and to /wave. May all your ideas be stellar and may you never run out of spoons.

Laurel King

Hahahaha I love this! May you also not run out of spoons (I only own 3, so I can't procrastinate for long). Enjoy the rest of...whatever day it is!

Rob Bane

Remember spoons restaurant? There is one left in Santa ana. Hi!!

Jason Mirch

Hey Debra, great to meet you! I'm the Director of Script Services at Stage 32. Sounds like you have a lot going on right now! Thrillers are huge right now so definitely keep up the good work!

Welcome Debra!

Laurel King I had DnD tonight so there was no doing dishes. (First class gamer nerd here.) I have two spoons left in the drawer. After my part-time job ends tomorrow, I will do some dishes or maybe all of them. Who knows. I mean, I don't even have any plastic one-use spoons because I got rid of those, so I'd be down to the giant soup spoons which don't fit in the top of a certain brand of yogurt container.

Rob Bane, I live outside of Chicago so "Spoons Restaurant" doesn't mean anything to me. Tonight's DnD session had multiple references to Muppets and I think a Gonzo running theme through a "Muppet Show" was his hanging spoons on his nose.

Jason Mirch, I think you're on my list of people to email with a directional question, or someone from Stage 32 is. I can't find the list so I don't completely remember. I write lists on the backs of envelopes because, hey, it's free paper and if they are going to send me junk mail, I might as well use it. And then I clean and think I will put stuff where I'll find it and yeah...about that. Time for a new list!

So, I finished version 4 of this script while we were fighting displacer beasts. I need to set it aside for a couple of days and come back to it. Yay me! I just wish I could come up with a better title. It's so lame.

I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one who has had to use the spoon method to realize that it's time to do dishes...
